Launch of AFRAUHN

 
 

The African Architectural and Urban History Network (AFRAUHN) was launched at the The 18th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice. The curator Prof Lesley Lokko OBE, deployed the exhibition, titled The Laboratory of the Future, alongside the ‘Carnival’ ,a six-month-long cycle of events, lectures, panel discussions, films, and performances, that explore important themes. The AFRAUHN and launch event and roundtable on the future of African architectural research on the continent and in the diaspora was one of these.

It was chaired and moderated by Prof. Ola Uduku, Prof. Ikem Stanley and Prof. Nnamdi Elleh with speakers: Murray Fraser, Ikem Stanley Okoye, Ola Uduku, Warebi Gabriel Brisibe, Kuukuwa Manful, Victoria Okoye, Mark Olweny, Huda Tayob, Ramota Ruth Obagah-Stephen, Neal Shasore
